Going Bare: Giving Up Liquid Foundation and Stepping Up The Skincare Routine

Recently I had noticed major break outs on my face and was having a hard time controlling them. I hadn’t had acne problems since I was in high school and I knew I had to change some things in my routine. I decided to give up liquid foundation as a part of my routine. I watch a lot of YouTube tutorials and what definitely helped with that decision was looking at some of the gurus videos over time, seeing the change in their skin, it was so apparent. It definitely was an eye opener, and yes I know it differs from person to person, but I didn’t want to take that risk. So I have been putting together a really rigorous routine and now only use BB cream, tinted moisturizer and powder for my base, sometimes blush or bronzer and my heavy make up is on my eyes, mascara and eye liner. I’m not opposed to make up at all, I will always have lip stick or blush or something, but I did want to consider the long run for my skin and I did not want to have those same issues with acne that I had in high school. Here is a video from my YouTube page on my skin routine.

  1. Hey Liz! I would like to start a skin routine myself because i have noticed my skin changing, not for the better, its just that i cant buy everything right now. So what would be the top 3 starter products out of all the things you named in your video? XOXO

    • We’re stressed! But definitely a daily cleanser, a mud mask and some face wipes. Those would be my top three, and you can get the store brands and to make them go a long way, use the face wipes first then take a hot towel and sit it on your face for a couple minutes to open your pores then wash your face with the face cleanser for a deep clean, then take an ice cube and rub it over your face to close the pores. It sounds really silly but it’s a super inexpensive at home spa treatment. 🙂 hope this helps.
